January Goals

image

It’s the first day of the new year and month. Which means we make goals around here. Making my goals actually got me super excited for the year. To be real I wasn’t as stoked for thisĀ  new year as in the past, but seeing my goals on paper shifted me. Write the vision and make it plain.

Fitness & Health: To get back in the gym at least 3 – 5 times a week. I’ve been going here and there but my goal for this month is consistency. NO MATTERS WHAT!

Money Management: I revised my budgets today and I plan on sticking to them. As much as I had cut out spending eating out is as much as it increased last month. I need to stick to the amounts I set and not step out of it. I love eating out with friends the fellowship time is what I love. I wrote a list of fun free things we can do outside of eating. Plus I need to prep my healthy snacks so I’m not spending small amounts of money that add up to a lot at the end of the month. Another thing I set up is to having monthly meetings with my personal banker. This will help me asses where I am financially and if I am on track to reach my goals. I am extremely blessed with an awesome banker who calls me when he sees me spending to much, BUT sometimes I ignore him. Sorry Tony!

Writing: Last month I did not reach my goal of finding a writing group. Eek! I did take a few online classes and read articles but when I looked up groups I was overwhelmed. Some of them just seemed so critical. Alas I need to join one and will do just that the worst that can happen is people rip my work to shreds and I grow right. I actually think I’ll enjoy it once in the swing of things. So time to get it done. As far as guest posts that goal is becoming reality this month with a post I’ve already written. (More details to come later) I will still be submitting my work to publications. I made a goal to submit at least 3 articles this month.

YouTube: Before there was lizzypbeauty.com it all started on YouTube. I had wanted to start a channel for years before it was really even a thing, but always convinced myself I couldn’t do it. I gave it a go at the beginning of last year but became discouraged when I didn’t have the equipment to make my videos fancy. I really do love making videos and will work with what is in my hand. I have to much content I want to share via that platform that I can’t ignore any more.

Discipline: I need discipline in my life in a major way. Every area I fail in is due to a lack of discipline. Procrastination is not my friend if I plan accomplishing my goals I need to have more structure and stick to it. I’ve been treasure hunting in the bible all day for scriptures on discipline. Not really fun but helpful. Setting up a plan!

Those are some of my major immediate goals. Let’s attack this month head on and get it done.

Comment down below with a goal you have this month. Share how you plan to execute it if you want. Let’s help each other reach our goals.

December Goals

image

Wow we are at the last month of the year. Which has seemed to get here so soon. When making my list today I was reflecting on the year I’ve had. It truly has been a very good year for me. I’m happy December’s here but still have a few things to get in before we say good bye to 2014.

Health & Fitness: As always I’m still on that grind to get my health up. I found last month to be extremely difficult. So I made a new list of meals and places I can eat. What I can eat at these establishments that will benefit me. A lot of my downfall last month is that I simply just wanted comfort food. Warm and cozy, but I’m giving that up food doesn’t comfort me God does.

Business: Well some interesting things have happened in this area last month. I feel even more pressed upon to step out, further into the deep. I started some new ventures in my quest to be a full time entrepreneur. What I’m finding is I need to be even more organized to manage it all properly. I already have my planner and a few more apps to assist but kicking this sometimes lazy or nervous thing is my main goal. Also I need to define some contracts for my services so I don’t get swindled.

Money Mangement: I actually did good in this area last month. Yay! I’m finally feeling disciplined in this area. I’m no longer binge shopping or buying things I don’t need. My goal this month is to build new budgets for the next year. Also to save crazy amounts of money and not over spend turnin’ all the way up this holiday season.

Writing: I want to find a writing group if there is one thing I have learned it’s that I love writing more than I ever have known. Writing has always been something I thought I was so bad at. Now I love it and my writing voice. I need to find a group of people share my new found passion.

I have to give a shout out to my girl over at theposhblog.com her no buy last month was simply inspirational. Why she picked one of the hardest months of the year to do this I’ll never know, but I am proud and inspired by her will power.

Well that’s it for this month’s goals. I want to encourage you all to finish this year strong. When you start to think about quiting and waiting to next year to start again. Remember you are building the life you want and every day lost is a day you get stuck exactly where you are at. Push forward this month! Comment and let me know how you plan on conquering the last month of the year.

Sugar Paper Los Angeles & Target

I have been obsessed with Sugar Paper Los Angeles for quite some time now. So when they announced their joint venture with Target my heart lept. It’s been a while and I couldn’t find any that weren’t beat up or simply weren’t my style. Oh but today I found the perfect one. Durable and gorgeous! Yes! Only thing I wish it was pink and gold, but navy and gold shall do. Plus it’s different.

I know a bunch of people like to use the calendar in their phones. I am a visual person so a paper hard copy is better for me plus I can write the notes on have on the weekly section. Keep all my clients and due dates together.

Have you started planning for next year? Do you have a hard copy or digital?

October Goals

image

Goodbye September! Whew what a month that was, so many ups and downs. That’s exactly why I’m so happy to say hello to wonderful beautiful October. Hi October I love you, love you baby. That last statement just sings of how much I didn’t like September. Anyways I always make goals for myself on the first week of the new month. I was productive and quite timely this month and planned on the 1st. After I finished I thought I could share some from each category. Okay let’s dive right in.

Successfully make exercise apart of my weekly routine.
I almost met this last month but due to injury and one week where I was just plain old lazy.

Invest in my business
I have several business plans just sitting down collecting dust. I need to take some action no matter how small to make those a reality.

Read more books
I have a super long list of books that I want to read but never get to. Books about entrepreneurship, leadership, and communication. If you want to grow in an area it’s always best to pick up a book and read.

Write everyday!
I need to write for this site and a few other things I have tucked away. I am trying to monetize my passion. Also I am looking for some sites I can guest blog on.

Spend less money on food
Looking at my money breakdown I made great advances in this area but I still need to cut it down. I am tired of all my money flooding this area when I need things for my business and my life.

Well those are just a few in the massive mapping which is my life. Until next month’s goals and check up HAPPY PLANNING!
